Winner of the 2012 Oklahoma Book Award!

I write young adult historical and paranormal fiction. As a teen my imagination constantly roamed to distant lands and times, and now that I'm older the past is pretty much all I want to write about. I'm crazy about gothic tales of haunted people, doomed love, dark secrets and repressed passions—rest assured you'll find many of these themes in my own writing.

My YA novel, The Revenant, is a Victorian ghost story set in a Cherokee girl's school in the old west. It is now available from Knopf. Stay tuned to the books page for the latest updates.
